Jack Selway Fresh Comment Nov17, 2023: Recalling Oct 23, 2014. I was in Chicago as invitee Guest Speaker at RC Peoria North and RC Sunrise to speak on Polio Day about Polio Perspective in Pakistan. DG Nicki Scott (Now RI Vice- President) of RC Sunrise took me and my friend to Presidential Walkway. I visited Paul Harris Cemetry. I deposited $100 with Nicki to pass it on to PDG Irv Kaplan. He then planted Brick in the Presidential Walkway with my name, club name and my country Paksitan engraved on it.

Rotary is Anti-Environmental, Rotary is Anti-community, Rotary is Hypocrite Dear Madam / Sir, Your Rotary club of Sangli Midtown have started one project of Sewage Treatment Plant. This Plant is proposed in a public garden name is “Ambarai Garden” We are resident of adjacent area of “Ambarai Garden” Rotary is always showing concern about environment but actually erecting a sewage treatment plant in a Public garden, for which they have cut some trees also you can see in attached photo and video, we never thought a NGO like Rotary is such a hypocrite. The location selected by your Rotary club of Sangli Midtown is in such a part of “Ambarai Garden” where it comes in 6-8meter distance from our houses. Corresponding photographs and video are attached here. The location selection is done without considering the residents in surrounding area. It seems that Rotary Club has finalized project without considering community analysis. The copy of signature campaign is attached here with If the proposed sewage treatment plant is erected at proposed location, then it will definitely troublesome for the residents around the plant. We the residents of surrounding area have done a meeting with the Rotary club representatives in presence of our local Member of Legislative Assembly, Maharashtra state, India. Regarding the project of proposed Sewage treatment plant, we are surprised to hear about your Rotary member’s point of view, they are asking to shut the plant if it’s bad odor, toxic gases or the non-preperformance is giving trouble to residents of surrounding. In entire meeting they have never assured us about the plant performance. Means Rotary is wasting public funds just for the sake of cosmetic community service. Funding by rotary to Anti-Environment project (STP plant) in Ambrai Garden, Sangli and near Residential Area, Without consent of community. This project will spoil public image of Rotary in the community. The impression of Rotary in the minds of we residents will be a "corrupt NGO", Rotary is anti-community, anti-environment projects just to show off. We have requested your Rotary club of Sangli Midtown members and requesting you all authorities of the Rotary kindly stop this sewage treatment plant erection work in front of our houses. Otherwise, we have no option but to spread whole issue in social media. We will keep this social media campaign even after the project work completes and project working will start. Operation of the project is every day fight for us therefor we will expose the corrupt & gray side of Rotary Rotary Club of Sangli Midtown (Maharashtra, India) members are behaving very irresponsibly, saying we are only funding and where the Local Government authorities will do project is none of our business. We don't care what will happen with the project in future, if the local Government body will not run the plant properly residents can protest against the plant and stop plant operation. Our only request to all Rotary authorities is to build this project outside Garden and away from Residential area.
