#1. On 23. February 2006 the Rotary Club of Pattaya organized a ceremony announcing Pattaya to become the first Rotary Peace City in Thailand.
At the same time a monument in black granite similar to the monument in Wagga Wagga (Australia) was unveiled in a location called the Pattaya Peace Park on the Phratamnak Hill overlooking the City of Pattaya.
Representatives of the Pattaya city administration, police, army, navy, four main religions (Budhist, Christian, Muslin, Sikh) in our city, representatives of many Rotary Clubs and other clubs and organizations in Pattaya and its surroundings were present.
The Chairman of the Rotary Peace City project of the Rotary Club of Pattaya PP. Niels Colov made a speech explaining the significance of Pattaya City related to peace and was followed by representives of the four religions making their speech on how their religion promoted peace.
#2. Pattaya City, was declared in the 2009 year. The event was sponsored by RC Pattaya and initiated by Geoffrey Little and Neils Colov.
